Siemens Atellica IM 1600: Doubling Immunoassay Throughput Without Growing Your Footprint

Siemens Atellica IM 1600 Immunology Analyzer

As reference laboratories and hospital networks scale their immunoassay volume, floor space quickly becomes the limiting factor. Adding capacity usually means adding footprint, which isn't always available in an already-crowded core lab. Siemens designed the Atellica IM 1600 specifically to break that tradeoff.

As the high-volume sibling to the Atellica IM 1300, the IM 1600 shares the exact same compact footprint while doubling immunoassay throughput, a rare combination in high-volume immunochemistry.

Double the Throughput, Same Footprint

The IM 1300 delivers up to 220 tests per hour; the IM 1600 doubles that to 440 tests per hour, while occupying identical physical dimensions. For laboratories outgrowing IM 1300 capacity, that means a genuine throughput upgrade without renovating the lab or reconfiguring existing bench space.

Proven Acridinium Ester Chemistry

Both IM analyzers run on Siemens' acridinium ester (AE) chemiluminescence technology, a well-established immunoassay method known for its rapid signal generation and low background interference. Because the IM 1300 and IM 1600 use identical reagents and consumables across configurations, labs running both models (or planning to add a second unit) benefit from streamlined inventory management rather than juggling separate reagent stock.

Built for Scalable, Connected Workflows

The IM 1600 integrates with the Atellica Sample Handler and Atellica CH 930 chemistry module, allowing chemistry and immunoassay testing to run on a single connected platform. Up to four Atellica IM analyzers can be integrated into a single Atellica Solution configuration, giving laboratories a clear scaling path as immunoassay volume grows, without switching platforms or retraining staff on an entirely new system.

Minimal Operator Intervention

Automatic quality control when connected to the Sample Handler, continuous particle mixing, and automatic tracking of reagent stability and calibration status all reduce the manual touchpoints that typically slow down high-volume immunoassay testing. For busy core labs, that translates directly into fewer interruptions during peak testing hours.

Scale Your Immunoassay Capacity Without Expanding Your Lab

At Diamond Diagnostics, we help laboratories add serious immunoassay throughput without the cost or disruption of a full platform overhaul.

Every Siemens Atellica IM 1600 we supply undergoes our complete Down-To-Frame® refurbishment protocol, including full disassembly, component-level restoration, and rigorous multi-level quality control validation, so your lab gets day-one analytical confidence.
