Unlike general chemistry modules built for a broad assay menu, the 900E is purpose-built for one job: electrolyte measurement. It runs sodium, potassium, and chloride, the three assays that make up the vast majority of daily STAT electrolyte orders, at a throughput of up to 900 tests per hour. That speed matters most exactly where it's needed: emergency departments and ICUs where a delayed potassium result can directly affect patient management.
Built for Minimal Sample, Maximum Speed
The 900E requires a sample size as small as 2 μL, reducing pre-analytical demand on patients and supporting efficient use of limited draw volumes. It supports direct STAT sample loading and automatic sample handling from both sample tubes and sample cups, letting urgent electrolyte orders move through the system without disrupting a running batch.
Part of a Larger Modular Ecosystem
The 900E doesn't operate in isolation. As the electrolyte measuring module of the original Modular family, it's designed to work alongside modules like the Modular P800 photometric chemistry unit, consolidating a lab's full core chemistry and electrolyte workload onto a single connected platform rather than requiring a separate standalone ISE analyzer.
