bioMérieux-Diamond Collaboration
Diamond Diagnostics Inc. is pleased to announce its official collaboration with bioMérieux , headquartered in Marcy-L'Etoille France, effective July 24, 2024. BioMérieux is a world-class IVD manufacturer and significant market stake holder in the laboratory segments of Microbiology, Immunoassay and Molecular Biology amongst others.
BioMérieux has introduced its E-Resale program with the intention of promoting opportunities to its customer base to purchase previously owned systems in a secure, reliable manner with the support of bioMérieux for installation, consumables and service contracts. This offer complements both company's vision of environmental sustainability and provides clients the opportunity to lower its capital investment for a faster return on investment.
This platform is being released and expanded in intervals starting in 2024 with complete anticipated global reach by 2026. After extensive vetting, Diamond has been selected to be the exclusive provider in this environment. In the spirit of Diamond's state of the art Down-To-Frame® refurbishing protocol, Diamond and bioMérieux have established and implemented quality protocols for consistency in performance, inclusion and aesthetic expectations. There are currently 13 offerings covered under this collaboration as listed below.

Serving larger testing volumes, the successor to the MINI VIDAS®, the VIDAS® offers more than 40 international validations including many food pathogen detection tests.
bioMérieux VIDAS® 3
The bioMérieux VIDAS® 3 is a fully automated benchtop immunoassay system based on the proven enzyme-linked fluorescent assay (ELFA) technology, for high-quality on-demand test results. VIDAS® 3 is the new-generation VIDAS® analyzer, designed with your lab’s specific needs and workflow in mind, equipped with increased automation, traceability and connectivity for greater productivity.
MICROBIOLOGY
Microbiology analyzers are designed for comprehensive pathogen detection and analysis. They perform rapid and reliable blood culture testing, identifying bacterial and fungal infections from various sample types. Additionally, they offer automated identification and antimicrobial susceptibility testing, providing precise and timely diagnostics for a wide array of infectious diseases.
bioMérieux BACT/ALERT® 3D
The bioMérieux BACT/ALERT® 3D Microbiological Analyzer is an automated microbial detection system offering advantages in every dimension of microbial detection testing. The system provides optimal environments for the recovery of a wide range of microorganisms, including bacteria, fungi, and mycobacteria, all in a single innovative platform that is compact, modular, and flexible. Systems are available in BACT/ALERT® 3D 120 or BACT/ALERT® 3D 240 options.
bioMérieux BACT/ALERT® VIRTUO®
The bioMérieux BACT/ALERT® VIRTUO® Microbiological Analyzer provides fully automated detection of the presence of microbes in bottles of blood and sterile body fluids. The system boasts a highly sophisticated MAESTRIA™ software that provides relevant information from multiple instruments and your LIS, seamlessly integrating your blood culture workflow to provide efficient and actionable results to help you achieve better patient outcomes.
bioMérieux VITEK® 2 60
The bioMérieux VITEK® 2 60 Microbiological Analyzer series offers laboratories the capacity to help improve therapeutic success and patient outcomes through reliable microbial identification (ID) and antibiotic susceptibility testing (AST). The system accommodates 60 cards supporting moderate to high volume laboratory usage.
bioMérieux VITEK® 2 XL
The bioMérieux VITEK® 2 XL Microbiological Analyzer series offers laboratories the larger footprint helping to improve therapeutic success and patient outcomes through reliable microbial identification (ID) and antibiotic susceptibility testing (AST). The system accommodates 120 cards supporting high volume laboratory usage.
bioMérieux VITEK® 2 COMPACT
The bioMérieux VITEK® 2 COMPACT Microbiological Analyzer series offers laboratories the capacity to help improve therapeutic success and patient outcomes through reliable microbial identification (ID) and antibiotic susceptibility testing (AST). The system is available to accommodate 15, 30, or 60 cards, allowing for increased testing capacity. The bioMérieux VITEK® 2 COMPACT 15, COMPACT 30, and COMPACT 60 are offered for these various volumes.
MOLECULAR
Molecular Analyzers conduct testing on plasma, urine and sputum samples along with swab material. Most Molecular systems include a wide array of test parameters such as CT/NG, HBV, HCV, HIV-1 VIRUS, Influenza Virus, Tuberculosis and Chlamydia.
bioMérieux EMAG®
The bioMérieux EMAG® Molecular Biology system is a fully automated extraction platform for total nucleic acid purification from various clinical samples. With minimal hands-on time and a single standardized workflow, EMAG® helps maximize laboratory productivity.
bioMérieux BIOFIRE® FILMARRAY® TORCH
The bioMérieux BIOFIRE® FILMARRAY® TORCH Molecular Biology system is the latest advancement in syndromic infectious disease. Providing up to six times more sample throughput per square foot of bench top space, the high throughput system is a fully integrated, random access system compatible with all existing BIOFIRE® FILMARRAY® Panels, providing the quick, comprehensive, and accurate results you’ve come to expect from BIOFIRE® FILMARRAY®.
